The objective of the project is to demonstrate the increased sustainability of biodiesel production plants using used vegetable oils . This is achieved by integrating in one installation an anaerobic process which allows energetic valorisation of process waste and other complementary organic by-products together.

The new model achieves a integral usage of feedstock used in biodiesel production, obtaining a improvement in the energy balance of the process and developing new alternatives for glycerine valorization and purification.

INTEGRAL-B objectives are in the line to those of new Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources ( COM/2008/0019Final-COD 2008/0016 )
